This week’s Soulful Sessions features one of the most polarizing and heavily publicized artist of the last ten years. Amy Winehouse was undoubtedly an amazing talent, however her personal struggles with addiction often overshadowed just how incredibly soulful and unique her voice was. I have decided to go with her performance of “Tears Dry on Their Own” on a popular British late night show, it’s by far my favorite version of the song live. There are people who believe that all her personal problems and turbulent lifestyle ruined her career, however I feel like all that pain and adversity she was going through is what really brought out the feeling in her voice.
