Workaholics Season 3 Episode 1 Recap

Workaholics-The Business Trip
By: Austin Coffelt

If you’ve never seen Comedy Central’s Workaholics, you’ve been missing out. Since they started out on Mail Order Comedy, Blake Henderson, Anders Holm, and Adam Devine have been producing some of the funniest sketch comedy on the internet. A couple years later, the folks at Comedy Central gave them their own show.
Workaholics is back, and if the premiere of Season Three is any indication of what’s to come, we are in for the best season thus far. For close to two years now, Blake, Ders, and Adam have been giving us the funniest show on TV, and in the premiere the guys start out preparing their humble abode for their first ever acid trip. When the guys’ boss, Alice, puts their plans on hold and calls Ders to go to work conference, leaving Blake and Adam to be creative to find a way to “do acid as a friendship family”. What happens after that is outrageous hilarity, ranging from the guys’ drug dealer, Karl referring to hotel ice as “the currency of the future” to Alice’s acid blowout in front of a family on vacation. The highlight of this episode is Adam and Blake’s encounter with “God”, which might be my favorite moment of the entire series thus far. If you’re saying “I haven’t seen the first two seasons”, fret not, you can pick up the show from this episode and miss next to nothing, story wise, although I do HIGHLY recommend you rent the first two seasons, or find them on Netflix, because it is great comedy.
I’ll be back each week with write-ups on each episode of this season, but until then, go find yourself a way to watch the first two seasons and then also start writing your thank you notes to me.
