Son Venezuela Cinco De Mayo Celebration at The Granada

Lawrence area Latin music ambassadors Son Venezuela is celebrating their 17th anniversary with a Cinco de Mayo performance.
For 17 years the ten piece band has been performing at concert halls and dance floors bringing their high energy show to the middle of the country. Son Venezuela is a salsa band that ventures into other genres like merengue, calypso, cumbia, and tamborera. Their shows are the perfect occasion for dancers of all skill levels to have fun together. From ballroom dancers to first time Latin music dancers everybody converge on the dance floor from the first note until the end of the show. The Son Venezuela concert goers are a diverse mix of cultures and ages all with love for Latin music and dancing as their common denominator.
The members of Son Venezuela come from the Dominican Republic, Chile, Venezuela, and across the USA. In their tenure the band has obtained 8 Pitch Weekly music awards for best world music band. “We are proud to be a Kansas based band performing Caribbean rhythms.” The Latin music band Son Venezuela will be in Lawrence, Kansas at The Granada 1020 Massachusetts St on Saturday May 5th for a Cinco de Mayo Celebration. Doors open at 9:00pm, this will be an all ages show.
