Jay-Z recently sat down with MTV to discuss, among a few other things, the design of the new Brooklyn Nets logo. Jay gives insight on the inspiration behind the minimalist black and white artwork, stating that the look represents the bold yet gritty feel of Brooklyn itself, while also paying homage to the iconic subway signs of old Brooklyn. The logo recently was unveiled to very mixed reviews, some felt the hip hop artist could have put more creativity and thought into the original design, while others appreciated the minimalist gritty approach he took. The Nets are set to being play in Brooklyn this fall with the start of the 2012-2013 NBA season.
